Gastric Lymphoma
Gastric Lymphoma
MALT: low grade lymphomas (B cell non-Hodgkins, as per WHO) that arise in the gastric mucosa’s lymphoid tissue. Associated with H.Pylori and often regress with eradication therapy.
Primary gastric lymphomas are rare but are one of the commonest sites of spread for lymphoma
Staging:
CT CAP
EUS to assess depth of invasion and lymph node involvement
Treatment:
H Pylori eradication if associated
If not associated, systemic therapy and irradiation can be considered
In advanced disease, chemotherapy has much more favourable outcome than surgery
(either chlorambucil and rituximab, or CHOP (cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine and prednisolone) and rituximab)
