Quick notes - Oxyhaemoglobin affinity

Oxygen-haemoglobin affinity

Oxyhaemoglobin affinity decreases (ie. shifts to the RIGHT) in situations where greater O2 is required

       High temperature

       Low oxygen

       High pCO2

       Acidosis

Raised 2,3-DPG (in chronic hypoxia, eg. altitude, chronic lung disease)
