Horner’s syndrome

 

Miosis (constriction)

Ptosis

Loss of sweating ipsilateral face

Enophthalmos (sinking eyeball)

 

Causes:            Pancoast’s tumour

       Lower brachial plexus fibres

o   Wasting of small muscles of hand

o   Loss of sensation C8, T1

o   Sympathetic nerves invasion (therefore miosis) and Horner’s

Cervical rib

Lateral medullary syndrome

       Posterior cerebellar artery blockage causing ischaemia in lateral medulla oblongata

Syringomelia – cyst within spinal cord causing compression.
